A/N: So I just finished “A Wise Man’s Fear” by Patrick Rothfuss (If you haven’t read it already, the Kingkiller Chronicle is a great series and you should definitely pick it up) and Tempi and Kvothe’s relationship reminded me waaaaaay too much of Geno and Sid if Geno was a mercenary warrior who smiled with his hands and Sid was a boy wonder magician. I wrote this in like an hour so all mistakes are my own. Also I don’t actually know any of the Adem hand gestures since they’re not described really with any detail in the book. So I made them up.

I just had this conversation with my little cousin (she's five years old), Jiana, while watching the Sharks/Kings game on tv:

Jiana: Hockey's nice
Me: You like it?
Jiana: Yeah. But only boys play it.
Me: Girls can play hockey too.
Jiana: But not hockey like that.
Me: You're right. It's not fair, is it.
Jiana:Why?
Me: I don't know. Do you want to play hockey?
Jiana: Yeah. But hockey like boy's play.

Later

Jiana: It's not fair. That only boys play hockey.
Me: It's not. You're right.
Jiana: But girls get to watch hockey.
Me: They do. But they should get to play hockey too, shouldn't they. In big stadiums like that.
Jiana: Yeah.
Jiana: I wish the [San Jose] Sharks were girls.

I'm woman enough to admit that I teared up when she wasn't looking. Wow.

Anyone who's a How I Met Your Mother fan or even just a fan of awesome people doing awesomely adorable things should go read "Five times Barney and Robin sat together at MacLaren's" by zauberer_sirin.

I've reread it now a few dozen times and it just gets better and better. It's my feel good fic of the moment. Plus it's got lines like this:

Ted, I've just had a horrible day at work. Somebody thought it would be soooo funny to put the lyrics to The Little Mermaid's Under the sea in the teleprompter instead of you, know, actual news, so I ended up improvising the narration to a bear attack in the New York zoo. Bears are feral animals, Ted, you don't understand, you haven't lived in the wilderness.

just had a TERRIBLE dream that I never ever want to have again.

Apparently I had my pilot license (and I blame my friend John for this since he talks about flying all the time) and I was flying a very VERY good friend of my aunt and uncle's, Todd, (who I really adore too in real life) somewhere and that for whatever reason, we had to go over the ocean. We crashed, through no real fault of my own and I survived and he didn't. Later that day, there was this hologram of him telling everyone how it had happened, him dying, but never mentioning my name because he didn't blame me and I just started sobbing because I still had to live with it. Woke up crying. It was horrible. Ugh.

What a great way to start off a Thursday, yeah? *rolls eyes*

Happy Thursday anyway though. Anybody else freaking the fuck out over tonight?

It's for a friend who's having serious trouble with all the streaming videos and can't do torrents. I've tried uploading them myself but for whatever reason it didn't work
